Daily Dose of Inspiration – Prayer is Powerful

PRAYER like sleep is also an entrance into the subconscious. When you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret and your Father which is in secret shall reward you openly. Prayer is an illusion of sleep which diminishes the impression of the outer world and renders the mind more receptive to suggestion from within. The mind in prayer is in a state of relaxation and receptivity akin to the feeling attained just before dropping off to sleep.

Prayer is not so much what you ask for, as how you prepare for its reception. Whatsoever things ye desire, when ye pray believe that you have received them, and ye shall have them. The only condition required is that you believe that your prayers are already realized. Your prayer must be answered if you assume the feeling that would be yours were you already in possession of your objective. The moment you accept the wish as an accomplished fact the subconscious finds means for its realization. To pray successfully then, you must yield to the wish, that is, feel the wish fulfilled.

  1. I would add that our prayers must be in alignment with what God wants…

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:14

We can use prayer to hear God’s will as well as to ask for it. It can take a season of prayer and listening in order to hear him clearly, and we know that any impression running contrary to his Word cannot be trusted. But within that, I agree, prayer is a marvelous tool!

    1. I agreed with your thoughts. God speaks through our thoughts which we then convert into prayer. Prayer is a combination of faith and imagination, both of which are essential for our desires to become reality. Have a great year ahead.
      Best to you

Prayer is not a weapon. If you use your prayers as weapons, you should expect God to disregard your requests. War is in the sinners heart and is not Gods message. He’s not going to help make you a bigger sinner. Sinful requests are always denied.

    1. Prayer for me is a combination of faith and imagination. Imagination is basically thoughts which are put into us by God himself as he is the soul within us. Faith is a belief within us as God reside in all of us. Prayer is a powerful tool indeed!!

A slightly different slant on prayer, but I’ve experienced its reality. I pray differently as I age however. Mostly praying that people will be receptive to the grace to become the person God created them to be.

    1. Great thought. God resides in all of us. He speaks through our thoughts and gives us faith to believe in him (aka US).

As a child, I was taught that prayer meant following a formula – the right words in the right order were necessary for success. Well meaning people took one of the simplest and most natural things we can do, and turned it into a fearsome chore. As you point out, just getting quiet and listening with the heart is all that’s needed. And we don’t even need an Amen!

    Thank you for the inspiration.
