Daily Dose of Inspiration – Sadness

I am SAD.

I am sad since morning. I can’t think of the reason why, but I am sad. At work I was sad, even driving back from work I was sad. But then lightening struck me, well not literally ofcourse (as I am still writing this post)*.

*Lame Alert!!! Apologies!

This lightening told me to accept my sadness and instead express gratitude to all the good things I have in life. Believe me its a task specially when you are feeling down already, but I forced myself to thank the car, the empty roads, a good productive day at work, completed tasks, healing class tomorrow…

My point?

It’s always good to feel and accept all of our emotions, even the ones we think are negative. They need an outlet and if not released can cause even more negative emotions and even depression. Allow your feeling to flow outward, don’t judge them or condemn them. I think we have all gone through that we want to move quickly from what we feel is a negative emotion as fast as we can. But, Thing is when our hearts are sad we can’t just jump to joy, and then we get frustrated that we can’t so feel even worse. Taking time to feel sad then time to feel angry, discouraged, overwhelmed and then frustrated releases all the emotions that are associated with each other. In time you will feel the release as you work it and you will begin to feel hopeful. Somedays it comes quickly and other times not. Just keep on cancelling out the negative with the power of the positive!!

Peace Out!!

  1. I hate when I am sad for no reason but I am getting much better and embracing it and letting the emotions out. I will watch a sad movie, listen to sad music, whatever it takes to get that emotion free so I can get back to my basic happy self.

  2. I could be sad today, or I could rejoice. It is the birthday of my late son Robin who would be 55 toay were he alive. He left this earth at 28. Here is the poem I wrote for him today. Enjoy.
    February 18, for Robin

On the porch icicles sparkle in the sun
I cherish the way they coruscate
But the ice melts until they disappear, one by one.

Dissolved, their beauty escapes me, gone and done.
But then a sunbeam sparkles through
my crystal hanging there, the rainbows

    scatter everywhere; my heart embraces
this new beauty as the love leaps up
and sings in my seeking heart.

This is your birthday, and your beauty sings to me
in every dewdrop rainbow, every flaming
autumn tree, each rose that opens to the sun.

Loves lost are found again remembering
your loving heart and how you cherished everything.

  3. I agree with your motion to release all the emotions that are associated with each other… i often acknowledge the situation and emotions surrounding, then i work out an understanding with ensuing feelings since i can just jump form sad to happy in a moment.

  4. So, so important to process those all that we feel!!

I have never understood the avoidance of feelings by so many today. It has become an acceptable part of society to ‘not feel’. Just be happy Moto is epidemic today.

The ‘think positive’ movement has taken any acceptance to feel off the map.
It is deemed ‘negative’, and it’s remedy is echoed over and over to ‘just think more positive’, each time any feeling but happy is revealed.
It’s wings spread across the world.

It’s not that thinking positive is not beneficial.
It is has simply been taken to the extreme.
Extreme’s lead to an unbalanced life.

And that never leads us to happy.
It only masks what is crying out to be revealed.

  5. reminds me of one of my favorite quotes “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company … a church … a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude … I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you … we are in charge of our Attitudes.” –Charles Swindoll–

  6. Hi Empress.

Aren’t emotions like painting with different colors? We need them all to make a complete picture of ourselves. You got it. My daughter and so both agree to let a sad song run and experience it when it comes. We are more complete when we exercise emotions, but like your said he they don’t control us.

    Thank you,
