Steps to a Healthier Heart

You can significantly lower your risk of heart disease by managing or reducing the risk factors you can control through healthy lifestyle changes. And don’t worry, you don’t have to make big changes to reduce your heart attack and stroke risk.

Count on these few white knights to protect your heart, your arteries, and the rest of you. They will make you look better and feel better. And it’s never too late to start. Here’s the list :

  1. Eat a heart-healthy diet : Make vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and fish mealtime staples. Limit sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar.
  2. Get Active : Log 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity like brisk walking per week for 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity.
  3. Control your blood sugar : Aim for a fasting blood glucose less than 100mg/dl.
  4. Watch your cholesterol : Strive for a total cholesterol less than 200mg/dl.
  5. Maintain a healthy weight : Target a body mass index (BMI) od less than 25.
  6. Monitor your blood pressure : Keep your numbers below 120/80 mmHg.
  7. Live Smoke – Free : If you smoke, quit.

  4. Having followed these steps myself– I know they have been the reason for my own positive annual checkups. The step I’m most proud of ( and the most difficult at first to do) was quitting smoking many years ago. If I had continued with my 2-pack-a-day habit, I.m sure my lungs would be shot today.   5. i think to have a bealthy heart and stay away from heart attack or heat diseases when you get old. One thing is last but not least you must know is stress-free. Because if you keep lose faith, stressed and get stuck in a long long time, it will gradually do you harm,
