All About Green Tea

Green tea is extracted from the Camellia Sinensis plant.

The earliest recording of green tea use was in China, but it is now cultivated in Japan, Vietnam and India. All of which claim to be the founders of Green Tea.

Green Tea was thought to have been discovered by Emperor Shen Nong who witnessed Green Tea leaves failing into a pot of boiling water in his garden. he enjoyed the flavour and recommended it to all despite not knowing its health benefits.

Green Tea is packed full of vitamins A, B2, B3, B6, C, E, Folic Acid, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus and much more.

On study required participants to drink Green tea everyday for 12 weeks they found that average weight decreased by 0.7kg-1kg.

Green Tea really is the most wondrous natural product as it claims to help you lose weight, regulate blood glucose levels, reduce blood pressure, enhance dental hygiene, prolong a youthful mind and even extend life.

Some say that, Green Tea can boost weight loss. Studies have found that Green Tea stimulates the thermogenic effect which increases heat energy production by the body. To do so it burns more calories from your food, thus slowing excessive fat store formation.

Green Tea is packed full of health properties mainly due to its content of polyphenols and catechins, in particular, EGCG (Epigallocatechin-3-gallate).

Currently, Green Tea is being heavily researched as its EGCG content is thought to protect neurological damage and therefore reduce the risk of developing dementia or alzheimer’s disease.

Ah it has been known to be a part of Kashmirโ€™s cuisine since ages. Due to the presence of saffron, it serves as a warming drink and helps to withstand the cold winters. Kahwa is an exotic mix of Kashmiri green tea leaves, whole spices, nuts and saffron, which was traditionally prepared in a brass kettle known as samovar. The samovar has a central cavity where hot coal is placed while the surrounding space is reserved for boiling the water and other ingredients for the tea. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you for reminding me this. Much appreciated and gratitude.

Take it for 2 minutes (covered)
Put it in the cup and squeeze half lemon.

You have made the right choice for your health. I am so glad you chose a healthy drink. It’s got antioxidants, properties that help you lose weight (thatโ€™s what I use it for), and also contains caffeine. With a little bit of diligence, I’ve found ways to work green tea into my sugar and caffeine addicted body. Thank you for stopping by.

A very good habit you have cultivated Maxwell. Just be careful of polyphenols and Catechins in the tea. Drinking green tea on an empty stomach in the morning can cause bad effects on the liver because of its high content of catechins. Drink green tea in the morning around 10:00 to 11:00 pm or early at night. Green tea has polyphenols known as tannins that increase stomach acid, which further leads to stomachache, nauseous feeling, burning sensation or even constipation. You must drink green tea in between meals or after a meal. Just a suggestion, however we all are different and itโ€™s not necessary that polyphenols and catechins will harm everyone. Take care.

Thank you. I am glad you liked it. Did you know green tea had multiple benefits. Itโ€™s not just limited to drinking. Instead of drinking green tea, some people apply green tea bags to their skin to soothe sunburn and prevent skin cancer due to sun exposure. Green tea bags are also used to decrease puffiness under the eyes, as a compress for tired eyes or headache, and to stop gums from bleeding after a tooth is pulled. A green tea footbath is used for athlete’s foot. Thank you for stopping by.
