“People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.” — author unknown

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be there. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, and their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When someone is in your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

Is the reason they are being sent to remind us? Sometimes we lose sight of our goals or what actually matters. Our better sense of judgment is clouded and it’s during times like these that some people show us the correct way. They remind us of what matters more and why we chose our paths in the first place.

Is the reason they are being sent to awaken us? Sometimes we let life’s reins fall from our hands, letting it move without our participation. We get too comfortable or distracted to actively take control and lead our own lives towards its goals. It Is during situations like these that certain people enter our lives to awaken us towards our goals.

Is the reason they are being sent to provide us much needed encouragement? Facing mountains of challenges and failure is enough to discourage anyone. Many times during the course of our lives, we face a situation which seems impossible to conquer, where failure seems inevitable. This is usually when someone steps in to help encourage us, and help us find our strength to continue.

Is the reason they are being sent to help us grow? Growth is a continuous process of our lives. Whether we like it or not, situations never remain the same and they keep changing, which forces us to adapt and grow accordingly. It helps us shed our previous shortcomings and transform into the person we are destined to be. Most of the times, these changes occur with the triggers provided by another person. They are the people who actually propel us towards our growth.

Every person who crosses our path is important in his/her own way. Its significance should not be ignored if we wish to grow and succeed in our lives.

Who has come into your life that you need to thank? Reach out to them this week and let them know the impact they have had on you!

    1. It’s on the cards Prakaash.

Those whose vibration (of the energy kind) resonates with one’s own life rhythm. This is why it’s natural for devotees & seekers to be with fellow devotees & seekers without much fuss (about all external identities such as religion, caste, status, etc & circumstances such as location, nature of place including cleanliness, ambience, etc) even in huge congregations such as the Kumbh MELA or ChAr DhAm, SabarimalA & other such yAtrAs (pilgrimage)

    1. Those who are acquaintances from a past lifetime – it’s quite possible for any human to be connected with someone who they’ve acquaintanced in a different lifetime, without really knowing what that connect is. As most humans are driven by emotions, this memory (of past births) is purposefully suppressed by design (imagine realising that the stray fed by you daily was either your sworn enemy or adorable friend in the previous birth!), but can be accessed by those who know the mechanics of Life, such as yOgis

    1. Thank you Mary. You feel a positive energy, a higher vibration, when you’re around them. Keep this person. The energy, or “vibe”, you feel around someone is important in a relationship. If you’re in your ego, if you feel jealousy, resentment, hatred, fear, pain, shame…etc, every time you’re with them, you’re around the wrong person.
