Tips for Safe Drinking

“Chug! Chug! Chug!” The crowds are cheering and you’re drinking. What started as a casual night of partying has turned into a drunken mess. You’re slurring your words and can barely stumble through the walk home. Or worse, the alcohol overtakes your body and you spend the end of the evening hunched over a toilet. …

Daily Dose for the Soul

Your dominant thoughts always match your manifestations, and so, once you understand the absolute correlations between your thoughts, how you feel, and what is manifesting in your experience, you can then accurately predict everything that will come into your life. It is nice when you are aware of your thoughts and therefore aware of what…

Daily Dose of Affirmations

Each day you can journey from your Alpha (it begins with you) to your Omega, which in the teachings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, is the point within each of us where our inner spiritual nature meets our outer worldly nature.  It is with this thought I bring to you daily dose of affirmations for…

Unhelpful Thinking Habits

Modern
psychotherapy
tells
us
that
when
stress
becomes
a
disorder
it
 causes
a
shift
in
thinking
–
and
we
filter
and
process
situations
and
events
though
a
distorted
 and
gloomy
lens.
The
’picture’
is
off
track,
and
it
is
not
the
situation
that
is
causing
our
upset,
 it
is
our
judgement
of
the
situation
(to
paraphrase
the
philosopher
Epictetus).
 The
following
are
the
most
common
thinking
patterns
people
with
anxiety
and
depression
 develop.
Note:
all
of
us
do
some
of
these
some
of
the
time,
but
when
we
adopt
many
of
them
 as
our
natural
default
position,
we
have
a
problem.
Can
you
see
yourself
here?
If
you
can,
 don’t
worry,
that’s
a
good
thing!
It
means
you
have
the
ability
to
self
critique,
and
that
if
you put
the
work
in,
you
can
dismantle
those
habits
and
build
new
ones
using
rational
thinking
skills
with
CBT.
All or Nothing Thinking – Sometimes called “Black and White Thinking”. If I’m not perfect I have failed. Either I do it right or not at all. Over Generalising – “Everything is always rubbish”, “Nothing good ever happens”. Seeing a pattern based upon a single event,…

Tips for Good Running Form

When we maintain good body position—head over shoulders, shoulders over hips, hips over the mid-foot upon landing and arms swinging directly ahead—we run with good form and use less energy to run faster. If your arms, shoulders or back hurt or feel tense during training, you need a form adjustment. New runners can learn proper running…

DIY Natural Perfumes Beyond our immediate understanding of medical purposes, smells can also be soothing or exciting. I have gotten rid of my cheap and toxic ingredient filled sprays and am enjoying using some of the natural smells that I love. The most expensive perfumes are from about 78% to 95% of specially denatured ethyl alcohol…

Daily Dose for the Soul

Love, joy, and peace are deep states of being or rather three aspects of the state of inner connectedness with being. As such, they have no opposite. This is because they arise from beyond the mind. Emotions, on the other hand, being part of the dualistic mind, are subject to the law of opposites. This…
