Things I wish for in life are developing some habits which will improve my today and tomorrow drastically.

“I always wanted to be someone better the next day than I was the day before.” ~Sidney Poitier

Enough of wishing I guess, so I solemnly swear that I am upto no good..oh!!..I mean I intend to do the following rituals in w.e.f. 8th September 2015.

  1. Read one book every week. It could be anything from Harry Potter, Fifty Shades of Grey series to Blink, Outliers or Drive. Just finish one book like a good girl every week.
  2. Write one post everyday. Yes. Good, thoughtful content to get the writing mills working.
  3. Laugh everyday. 😀
  4. Learn to say NO. Be Ruthless
  5. Not use my phone for a day in a week. Yikes, but have to do it.
  6. Sit quietly for sometime everyday
  7. Save money. Stop spending unnecessary money
  8. Be grateful for 6 things everyday
  9. Compliment one person everyday (a genuine one, have to stay true to myself)
  10. Be OK with imperfection. Be satisfied and happy with what I have.

Well, this is my list of good habits. Do you have one yet?

  3. Great list! I especially love number 10. I have a digital list of goals like that (I would lose it immediately if it were a paper to do list). Two of mine that I’ve found really beneficial were to drink a certain number of glasses of water per day (gradually increasing it over time), and listening to 3 songs that inspire me every day. Self improvement for the win! 🙂

    1. Oh wow…thank you so much for these two good habits. I am going to add them to my list now.

      1. No problem! I’m a natural list maker, so the second one inevitably lead to keeping a running list of songs that inspire me, so depending on what kind of mental space I’m in, I can easily find something that fits and helps lift me up.

  4. I guess the most challenging habit may be – Learning to say ‘No’.
With your positive attitude, I guess you can accomplish your every wish but Sr.no.4!

Wish you good luck! Thanks for being a fellow passenger in this voyage!

  6. Great list… though reading a book per week and writing a post everyday is something I can never accomplish. 😦 the two habits I am trying to inculcate these days are first, drinking lots of water per day and cutting down on my cold drink consumption. It’s going good by far. 🙂

    1. Hello, cutting down your cold drink consumption is the best decision you have made for your health. Trust me, I am a physician. Cola’a are bad for bones, metabolism and skin. Good luck

      1. I was addicted to cold drinks. Living in hostels for the past 7 years, I couldn’t gulp down food without drinking coke. And I have had terrible acne since teenage. I just hope my condition improves by following this habit.

  10. That’s a great quote. I would guess that most people strive to be better tomorrow. However, there is a wide variance in how people define “better.” We can better ourselves, better the environment or make life better for others. Hopefully, all of the above.

  12. I *love* your list … probably because its almost identical to a similar one I have! Have you hacked into my computer? 🙂

You might like my ‘gratitude’ head. It’s a hollow, clear glass ‘sculpture’ of a person’s head into which I insert a small sheet of paper with things I am grateful for from that day. I like the symbolism of ‘filling my head with gratitude’. At the end of the year on New Year’s Eve, I dump it out and read each one and start all over again. And if I’ve had a yucky day, I grab a handful of papers to read and remind myself how amazing life is.

  21. It’s interesting how much insight can be gained in reading a comment to a blog. For example, when a person says, “good ideas, I should try some of them,” they are really saying, “good ideas, if these ideas were convenient I would try some of them.” People like the IDEA of improvement; they often don’t really understand the effort and commitment necessary to accomplish the task.
I love the ideas (many of which I believe in and practice) and the energy exuded by this post. Well done.

      1. i do, i have reminders on my phone, that alarms several times a day where i say affirmations a loud, i did a 21 day of gratitude challenge with my kids, where each day we spoke of a few things we are grateful for. I try to do this daily now. Also as a reiki practitioner in training i do 30 minutes of healing on myself daily or my kids. I have reading and exercise on the list but those am not consistent as i like to be (especially exercise). I do try to learn something new everyday though.. I need to work on my relationship with other too, so defo will take that one from your list 🙂

O those list? So many of them, persistent? I have been. Failed to keep one list? Make a new easier one, until …I saw my totally inability to fulfill such lists!
Now, I can function amazingly well without any lists whatsoever. Still friends? I think so because you continue to honor me with your likes. love, thia 🙂
