Hi Folks,
Thanks for joining in for the second step of losing weight. I hope you all are getting enough sleep after the step 1. Lets discuss the next step to losing weight without diet and exercise, which is Drinking Water. It is a well-known fact that our body is 70% water. It is an integral part of our body and we have to make an effort to constantly replenish our body with water. Let us see how water helps us in losing weight:
1. Metabolism – Water increases our metabolism. Researchers estimate that over the course of a year, a person who increases his water consumption by 1.5 liters a day would burn an extra 17,400 calories, for a weight loss of approximately five pounds. They note that up to 40% of the increase in calorie burning is caused by the body’s attempt to heat the ingested water. The findings are reported in the December issue of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism
2. Acidity – There are many ways in which we add to acidic levels in our body, it can be through food, tea, coffee, soda drinks, environmental pollutants and even exercise. The body creates fat in order to trap this acid and that is something we do not want. Water can help us tackle this acid. Water is alkaline and it decreases the amount of acid build up in the body.
3. Hunger Pangs? – Do you ever feel sugar pangs or headaches in the evening or even feel hungry sometime after having a meal? We might think it is because our body needs energy and that’s why it is asking for food, but what your body is really trying to tell you is that it is Dehydrated. 3-4 litres of water is a must for an adult and even more if you are exercising. Always carry a water bottle along with you. Drinking more water will also reduce the volume of food you eat every time, which will directly affect you weight.
I hope this is helpful; Stay Tuned for more weight loss tips coming your way.
