Many people start their day with a fresh, hot cup of coffee. They purchase their coffee with care and enjoy it greatly. But what do you do with those grounds once you’ve drunk your coffee?
Here are some uses for those used coffee grounds :
- Deodorise – Freezer Stinky? Place bowl of used coffee grounds inside. You can also dry use coffee grounds on a cookie sheet and place them in a tied up nylon sock. Place in the closets, cars, and other spaces that need deodorising.
- Cover Up Your Furniture Scratch – By steeping used coffee grounds with water and applying that liquid on scratch with a Q-Tip.
- Plant Fertiliser – Use as a general fertiliser for garden. Particularly great for rosebushes, aza leas, rhododendrons, evergreens, and camellias.
- Keep Cats Away From Your Garden and Lawn – Stay away. Dry out used coffee grounds and mix them with orange peels. Sprinkle in areas where cats have been using as bathrooms.
- Fireplace Clean Up Made Easy – Before your clean out the ashes from your fireplace. Cover them with wet coffee grounds. This will keep the ashes from flying everywhere and creating a mess.
- Cleaning Agent – Greasy pots and pans? Hard to wash grime? Mix coffee grounds with water and scrub with a brush.
- DIY Dye – Steep coffee grounds in hot water. Use as a dye for easter eggs, fabrics, and paper.
- Enhance Your Brown Hair – Steep used coffee grounds in hot water for 15 minutes. Rinse through hair to give your brown locks extra vitality and shine.
- Keeps Ants from Invading Your Home – Sprinkle used coffee grounds around entry ways.
- Increase your Carrot Harvest – Mix carrots seeds with used coffee grounds before sowing, the coffee grounds small with help repel root maggots, and also provide nutrients to the soil.
- Make a Fake Beard – With honey and dried used coffee grounds, you can use the mixture to make a fake beard, perfect for halloween.
- Worm Food – Got a worm compost bin? Keep your worms happy by mixing in used coffee grounds.
