For most people, a hairdryer is a pretty straightforward tool used for, well, drying and shaping hair. But there are actually tons of other uses for this versatile item. A fraction of people might use their hairdryer daily, but most people don’t have the time to wash, dry, and style their hair every day. So, what can you use your hairdryer for while it’s sitting in a bathroom drawer? Believe it or not, there are plenty of uses for hairdryers all over the house.
Here are some unusual uses for a hair dryer :
- Spot iron your clothes. Need to iron out a wrinkle in your clothing asap? Dampen the spot, hang the article of clothing, pull it down straight and blow dry over the targeted area.
- Remove price tag stickers. Blow over price tags sticker to loosen the adhesive for easier removal. Also works for contact sheets on shelves.
- Set the icing on a cake. Give your cake a professional sheen. Lightly blow warm air on top and sides until frosting slightly melts. When it cools, the surface will stay shiny and look nice.
- Remove crayon marks from walls. Set your hair dryer to hot and blow on crayon mark until it begins to melt a little bit. Once that happens, wipe at mark with a damp cloth and a little soap cleanser. You can also do this for candle wax drops on wooden furniture.
- Mold plastic glasses to fit your head. Use this technique for cheap glasses only. Heat the ends of your glasses with blow dryer to make the plastic a little pliable and then wear glasses so that the frames adjust to your head width.
