Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #37
In today’s post we will talk about learning how to embrace pictures taken of you. Yup, we are all guilty of that one aren’t we? We are all afraid of how we would look in our pictures which is different from how we look in the mirror. Have you ever asked this question to yourself that why are you so conscious about how we look in pictures? I would say that the media has a lot to do with it. How many times have you seen the commercials or the magazines with the before and after photos, specially with these weight loss companies which is yes a part of the diet culture. How many of you feel like you look like the “before” photo? The before photo is unhealthy, depressed and just hated their life kind of photo. So you are not just looking at this before photo in terms of the weight but you are also feeling insecure about it because ofcourse you cannot be happy. The companies behind these photos are just trying to make money out of you. They are prying for it. So, stop judging your photos based on the subconscious thought that you should look like the happy, healthy “after” photo and being in that perfect shape of your life, not always at least.
