Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!

Self Love Practice Tip #99

In today’s post we will talk about how to feel comfortable in your own skin. The price is right is an old school show and that’s how women were viewed back then. There wasn’t much else a woman could do like women started joining the workforce in the 60’s. Women are not taking care of themselves, have a career and be a mom on top of that. We have to stop self objectifying and being lived like objects. That’s enough. Objectification hurts and it goes so deep that it can create long lasting damage. Have you ever come across a situation where you are going somewhere and an animal comes along the road and you say “Oh, he must be lost.” We automatically assume that animals are “He”. When it’s a “She”, that’s like a car or a boat. Have you heard anyone say, “Look at my car, She is beautiful.” You know why that happens, because it is an object. They are tying she to it. And this is the thing when I talk to my family and friends about stuff like that, people get upset and they say “Oh, just stop. Now you are getting to be too much.” Shouldn’t we start changing this language of viewing women like object? But people are so used to this, that is it scary.

Come back tomorrow for more inspiration.

  1. Indian system of cast and treating women as object is based on this 5000yr old belief that lower class people and women could not get enlightened.
India remained a place where research on different methods for getting enlightened were carried out and people from other religions are not only welcomed but they got followers too to learn their way of getting enlightened. This was the reason Jesus sent Thomas to Kerala in India. These Mystics researched in creating situations in which that secret gets revealed to the person.
With enlightenment of Jesus, son of a carpenter, a new era begun where women and lower class people could also get enlightened. Women In Arab Rabia, in India Meera, Laila, Dayabai, Sahajo etc got enlightened after Jesus.
So in present time if a women is not trying for her enlightenment then she is going to be used as object for sure. Society is still interested in using everyone as object of use. It is personal responsibility of woman to try make effort for enlightenment from all or whatever sources any idea or experiment is available. Restricting oneself to a religion in this age of internet is itself like living in a cage.

    1. Immanuel Kant’s views on sexual objectification have been particularly influential for contemporary feminist discussions on this topic. Kant thought that sexuality is extremely problematic when exercised outside the context of monogamous marriage, arguing that in such instances it leads to objectification. He characteristically writes in the Lectures on Ethics that “sexual love makes of the loved person an Object of appetite; as soon as that appetite has been stilled, the person is cast aside as one casts away a lemon which has been sucked dry. … as soon as a person becomes an Object of appetite for another, all motives of moral relationship cease to function, because as an Object of appetite for another a person becomes a thing and can be treated and used as such by every one” (Kant Lectures on Ethics, 163).

      1. It takes all types of persons to make this world. -Famous quote.
My post ‘Very few dares to enter the spiritual world…’ for more better understanding with western psychology and their understanding and reach about people- as per Osho.
As per my own understanding today I can say from my experience that a woman is ultimate personification of the Mother Nature. So by objectifying her it is easy to miss the God/Reality. Those women who dared to enter spiritual world made big differences into religion like Master of Bidhidharma-प्रज्ञातारा. She predicted fall of Buddhism in India in near future and ordered Bodhidharma to go to Chaina to save it. Even Bodhidharma has not attained Nirwaana by that time, still she ordered otherwise it will be too late.
Every person has both Mother Nature and God in them, our texts described and we too trust in Ardhnarishwar Roopa of Shiva.
So in women’s role acting like Mother Nature is primary and God is hidden inside, in man’s role attaining God is primary but Mother Nature is hidden inside. Before enlightenment primary role has to ‘see’ or experience the hidden one inside and with both this journey is possible. This formed basic teaching of Osho or Tantra.
So if a man is objectifying a woman, he too is at great loss because he will keep missing the very basic point without which the journey towards destiny could not be possible.

      3. The problem : the extreme low level of SATISFACTION when bodily intercourse is reduced to “appetite “, therefore never making a TRUE RELATIONSHIP. When CONNECTION is..no more seeking to find satisfaction elsewhere! The marriage is made in the WISH TO BE In CONNECTION BY BOTH SIDES! GOD IS FOUND THERE! All blossom, grow & fulfilled ! THANKS for adding COMMENT!

      5. “EVERY PERSON HAS BOTH GOD AND MOTHER NATURE IN THEM” you said. I am not sure..I told all this very message, yet no one responded. So, after reflection, I see:
A HUMAN as in HUMAN SPECIES deflects himself in CONTRAST to GOD, while searching to GET NEAREST to GOD! This is most positive. Otherwise, there are excuses to act below ANIMAL level. Not even animals are evil to one another. Only humans ! May be humans now are NOT made from GOD. May be they are INTRUDERS..since their level of despising, hurting, mean, cheating, mistreating one another is NEVER SUSTAINABLE to LIFE: thus they are the DEVIL = DEATH. Those are being extinguished in 2012/NEW EARTH Scenario after their insight to NO-METAMORPHOSIS!

      6. You say “ a woman is ultimate personification of the Mother Nature.” BEAUTIFUL! Yet, how may anyone make an OBJECT of what constantly grows in PERFECTION! May be we have to find who might FIT the NATURE OF GOD in a natural CREATIVE CREATIONAL flow. An OBJECT is dead. A GOD / MOTHER NATURE is always alive! If the women are OBJECTS, those are never fulfilling GOD! Neither MOTHERS who mistreat another, nor anyone who WANTS to SEE an OBJECT, rather than a: SENTIENT being.

      9. Many “thoughts” might.., yet the WISH determines each OUTCOME:
In GODS world, LOVE is required! Love is UNCONDITIONAL..this is: GIVING to what the OTHER wishes!

    1. Yes Kritika. Objectification is a notion central to feminist theory. It can be roughly defined as the seeing and/or treating a person, usually a woman, as an object.

      1. Objectifying a “women” was when men had all COMMERCIAL/ECONOMICAL power: they had most jobs, were paid more for same jobs than a women..plus socially he had the accepted “right” to violently hit their women / forbid them to go, do or even work!
Thereafter, the feminist thought was to empower a female. She had the right to work, even VOTE! Then, the issue went bonka: children ABANDONED since the ECONOMY went so bad that women WORKING leaving their children to a system that never allowed them to think, was not an OPTION, yet an OBLIGATION!
Now, what happened to the INVERTED Feminists: “no more men”.. = DESTRUCTIVE to GOD, or the more COVERT versions of women ABUSING MEN / their WALLET! OBJECTIFYING the man! – all so SAD! I am aiming for TRUE LOVE IN A RELATIONSHIP!

  4. I see what you mean. I hadn’t thought about the way with talk about animals or objects with either he or she. But it’s quite subliminal conditioning when you think about it.

  6. Talking PHILOSOPHERS: What is KAFKA’s “METAMORPHOSIS” about: SELF-AWARENESS! All in a sudden, the character notices, WHAT A BUG … he / she is. It made sense then, in the early XX Century in rigid Germany. A new view: WHAT AM I? A question no one posed themselves THEN.
He – after noticing- then HIDES! No solution, unless one changes. No more hiding.

  7. Self love starts by INTROSPECTION! “Is this, what I – not someone else – like?”. “Am I comfortable by other people: when not, is it HE/SHE or is it MY personal feeling, a CONDITION / MIRROR of my self?”.

This is the MESSAGE of JESUS:

I LOVE, THEREFORE I EXPECT THE ABSOLUTE BEST WHEN I LOOK AT YOU!

SCIENCE has achieved to see in QUANTUM PHYSICS the way a positive outcome is achieved: it all depends on WHO IS OBSERVING! The expectations of the observer influence the outcome!!!!! BTW, Jesus was never catholic! Nor was Jesus attaining a religious view: separation was the condition… whereas GOD loves all!
