Welcome fellow souls to “The Human Family Crash Course Series,” a new project collaborated together by empress2inspire.blog and sensispirit.wordpress.com. We hope you enjoy our series and we look forward to knowing how our posts have inspired you!
Self Worth
The only one who gets to decide your worth is you. It doesn’t come from your bank account or the number of friends you have. It doesn’t come from what someone else says you are worth. And it doesn’t come from a number on the scale or the number of nights you go out..it’s called self worth for a reason, your worth comes from you. It comes from being yourself and being proud of who you are. It comes from being someone that you can count on and being someone you love. Because when it comes down to it, the numbers will change. But what won’t change is who you are deep inside – beautiful, limitless, wonderful, creative, strong, capable, and that is where you worth comes from. ~ Walk the Earth
Your divine potential is within your reach. You are powerful, purposeful and valuable. Most of us have had troubles with confidence in the past. We know what it takes to live your best life. It has to do with positive abundance based thinking.
How to Put Value on Yourself and Know What you are Worth?
Self-worth is the affective or emotional aspect of self and generally refers to how we feel about or how we value ourselves (one’s self-worth). Self-worth can also refer to the general idea we have of ourselves and self-worth can refer to particular measures about components of self-concept. You have to start learning how to enjoy yourself more if you want to enjoy your life more.
Here’s how you should not measure your self -worth :
- Appearance – This is the most pressured measurement of worth for both men and women. Society says that they should look a certain way which pushes people to do diets, vigorous exercises, and worrying constantly about their appearance. Beauty industry constantly loves to target these insecurities. You will not find your worth by tying it to your appearance.
- Trying to Find Your Self Worth in Other People – Society says that the one is out there for us. Yes he/she is. But that special someone will not complete you. Trying to find your self worth in other people is egging on the idea of codependency rather than focusing on the idea that you are valuable and worthy more than anyone.
- Work and Achievement – This includes degrees, certification, title at work. This is very limited and judgemental thinking. If you let work and achievement define your self worth then you have to constantly achieve some higher degree to add to self worth. This thinking can also make you look down upon people and push them away.
- Material Objects – people tie their self worth, programmed by society to material objects such as cars, devices etc. You likely know at least one person whose self-worth is measured by their income or material possessions. But people who measure their self-worth by the net worth never feel “valuable enough.”
In the next section coming out this Thursday, we will be deep diving into “How you can measure your self worth in healthy ways”. Watch out this space for more.
