Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #46
In today’s post we will continue to talk about the diet culture. Diet culture is a system which is focusing on valuing self based on how thin you are. A person’s moral character is based on the food choices. When I first heard the word diet culture I thought it meant people’s obsession with he trending diet. But it goes so much deeper than that. Diet culture specifically targets women and there is so much of discrimination against someone who is over weight, obese and there is so much of judgment which goes along with that because we are taught by the diet culture that thin equals healthy. And that is where they can get us with the magic diet pills, shakes and these programs. They focus on weight loss is not teaching you to be healthy. Even though they might b spinning the word healthy but what they are really doing is focusing non weight loss, and has nothing to do with nourishing the body. It is a fabrication of life saying that you can’t be healthy if you have that extra 10 pounds. We put in our heads that fat is disgusting and that sends so many wrong messages. There is no person with the same body shape and so trying to fit into a particular body type is wrong and misleading. Don’t fall for this.
Hope this helped. Come back tomorrow for more self love inspiration.
