Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #66
Today we will talk about body positivity. As I said with regards to food, diet culture does not take into account different lifestyles of people. I personally do not want to be in the gym 5, 6 or 7 times a week. I don’t have a goal of having an athletic body, have chiseled abs. But I like my body soft with its curves and I do not have aspirations to be like a fitness model. So I have different goals of moving my body. Like I love to walk and do the elliptical. But like I said running and jogging are not for me. I also love to stretch and do yoga. I also like to live freely oscillating between 5-10 pounds which is okay. Is it much to much to expect? This is where I say that you can be body positive and focus on fitness goals which do not weigh heavily on weight loss as the primary goal. Exercise is rarely tied to feeling good and just moving the body or having a certain goal of reducing weight from some part of the body, so that’s what you should make it about. You want to need to have a better relationship with exercise. Diet culture will make you feel guilty, not doing enough reps, burning enough calories or spending enough hours exercising like you shouldn’t have to feel so much pressure to partake in any military type exercise.
Come back tomorrow on more inspiration on body positivity.
