Daily Dose of Self Love

Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!

Self Love Practice Tip #89

In today’s post we will talk about how to hush your inner critic. We will see how your inner critic is formed? Why it is there? What is it trying to tell you? What you can do about it? Chances are that you are allowing your inner critic to hold you back in many areas of your life and if you don’t learn how to work with it or control it, you are always going to be stuck, fearing to go after your dreams. That mean and nasty inner voice or your inner critic is where all your self doubt comes from. It’s terrible and we all have it. It makes us insecure when you need your confidence the most which is usually when important things happen like going for a job interview or maybe on a date or anything else which involves putting yourself out there or making you vulnerable. It’s that fear of the unknown so your inner critic’s nasty voice comes and it think it is trying to protect you but what it mainly does is put you in a situation where you just want to crawl into a hole sometimes and makes you give up on your desires and dreams. How it does that? It shouts out phrases to you like”You can’t.”, “You shouldn’t”, “You won’t bee able to”, “The other person is better than you.”. The inner critic also tells you to compare yourself to others. So anything that is telling you that you are basically not good enough is your inner critic. So first of all you just have to aware of it, give a name to it and understand the instances when it creeps up on you. Why? Because when we have a thought we don’t think about it too much about what it is or where it came from.

Come back tomorrow for more inspiration.
