Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #98
In today’s post we will talk about how to feel comfortable in your own skin. While you should make an effort to stay in the positive momentum of body positivity, always remember that the buck starts with you. Take care of yourself first no matter how tempted you are to help someone else. If you can’t move forward from self objectifying and still worrying about a particular body part, then you can’t help anyone else. Stop obsessing about how you look. Women throughout history has been treating like objects rather than people. While selling beauty products, women are sexually objectified. In movies, the female character is usually the love interest and nothing more. The camera usually focuses on more of her body parts or her face. Even in the fifty shades of grey movies, the author is a female and we think that the movie is about making the women happy but it really is just another example of it being all about a man’s wants and needs and that the women is just the object and not the subject. I really have a problem with that movie. It’s like forget the females dreams and goals, and she meets this billionaire and it is okay to forget what she wants and hope that one day he will turn around and marry you. So women are still an object. On TV, a show called “Price is right” uses women to show the products on the show. The host has always been a man and he is always covered up in a tux whereas the woman are dressed in short clothes. So here’s example. One doesn’t have to be hot and gorgeous to be appreciate by someone for their beauty. All of these examples are why subconsciously we believe like we are objects and need to be perfect in order to be valued because otherwise there is not another purpose for a woman or a man even.
Come back tomorrow for more inspiration.
