Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #109
In today’s post we will continue to talk about how to stop comparing yourself to others. It is easy to fake a lifestyle on social media, so stop wishing you had the life of others because you are only seeing the highlighted real not the actual real of what people show the world. I have heard people jumping the barricade at an airport just to take a picture by the plane, I am it is totally ridiculous what people would do just to get a few likes. So do not try to compare yourself to someone on social media because you do not know their situation as a whole. If you see someone travelling all over and buying fancy stuff, do you know how their bank statement looks like or their credit card statement, you don’t even know if the person might be in debt, so looks can be deceiving and you do not know where and how the person can reached their current state in the career and professional lives. They actually might be successful but you do not know the hardships that they may have gone through to get there or continue to have. Have realistic expectations of yourself. Start thinking about things that you want to accomplish and understand what it will take for you to get there. Also check what you lifestyle is or how you want to live and ask yourself if your goals match your lifestyle. You may be focused on living someone else’s lifestyle than living your own. For example, if you are buying new TV’s and cars, is it to appears successful or just to keep up with someone and put yourself in debt. You must become aware and hold yourself accountable for causing more good than harm to your goals.
