In today’s post we will talk about what kind of year do you want to have. There has been a lot of writing about new year resolution on blogosphere lately. That isn’t a bad things but there are a couple of norms in which people make new year resolutions.
- Most people consider their new year resolutions are merely wishes. They don’t resolve of commit to anything. You can sense that lack of commitment in the language they use and the lack of actions they take.
- Resolutions you should feel free to make anytime not just at the start of the new year. It’s funny how people think of their new year resolutions in mid December and wait until January first to get started. Don’t wait for some arbitrary date to occur to start.
One of the effective ways resolutions can work is by taking effective and measurable steps each day every day. Resolutions should be binary in order to prevent any kind of slip. They should also be very achievable. Often a brainless repetitive action everyday can bring about better results than a more complicated plan specially when the later does not get properly implemented. Keep in mind that you can always do more and add complexity later. But having a brainless default activity is a great fallback to avoid fooling yourself.
We will talk more about how to create the year you want tomorrow.
Here’s a post of how to make 2021 your best year > https://empress2inspire.blog/2021/01/01/ways-to-make-2021-your-best-year-part-1/

Great post and perfect timing. Most people have quit on their resolutions about this time. You said it perfectly that commitment is the key to success. Take care. Scott

Commitment is often hailed as a key ingredient to success. Commitment is high on the agenda with DrivenWoman and one of the first concepts our new members get in touch with then they join. … I believe that commitment is the single most important ingredient on a road to success, what ever you are looking for in life.

Agreed! Thank you for sharing this. I definitely believe in creating tangible everyday goals that can bring results. Gotta stay on it (repetitive)!

I couldn’t agree more Brandon. It’s easy to get so focused on the outcome that you forget the steps needed to achieve the outcome. You might go from A through Z, giving little thought to B, C, D and everything in between. So, write down all of the individual steps. This is your road map to executing your plan as flawlessly as possible.
Harry Mills, CEO of The Aha! Advantage and author of Zero Resistance said it to me best: “Successful entrepreneurs map out their goals to achieve them. Entrepreneurs that develop a map to reach an achievement or overcome indecision are compelled to take action.” Along the way, seek out the advice of your peers, a former business partner, a trusted advisor or mentor. They might have insights you’ve overlooked.
