Welcome to the Daily Dose of Self Love. This series will be about self love, self care, self esteem and self worth. Basically everything related with SELF. My aim with this series is to give you a daily boost of self love and self care. We all get busy with our lives and sometimes it leaves us less or no time to take time for ourselves, be with ourselves, wash off all the negativity that we accumulated during the day with self love, meditation, etc. The daily boost will be in an easy to understand and more importantly something which is relatable. So Welcome!!
Self Love Practice Tip #114
Today we will continue to talk about how to gain self respect by creating healthy boundaries. You have the right to take care of yourself. If someone wants to stay together as a family or as a group, it is up to each individual to make such a decision. We all share responsibility to create the interdependency needed to keep us as a united group. For us letting go of the feeling that it is your responsibility to keep your family together can be liberating. It makes people, bette people. You can only fix yourself and it is a full time job plus overtime sometimes. So it is ridiculous to think that you can change other people. You can only support them and love them but you can’t do all the work for the other people. So that is a boundary that you should create for yourself. It will make you so much lighter. I know a lot of people who have this boundary and we are very happy people indeed. Another unhealthy belief is that when people say, “I cannot trust anyone ever again”. I have heard people say that and they get closed off when they get hurt, I mean I understand it is easy for anyone to do that. But that is an unhealthy belief. You may be closing good people who may be better for you. So a healthy boundary would be that you have the right to take risks to grow in a relationship with others. If I find that my rights are being violated and ignored, I can assertively protect myself to ensure that I am not hurt.
Come back tomorrow for more inspiration.
