To identify your limiting beliefs, we seek to search for the origins of these subconscious concepts. Where do your restricting beliefs come from?
“It’s so important to identify beliefs.
Because once you identify [a negative belief], once you bring it into the light, you will see it doesn’t belong to you:
– That it came from your parents;
– It came from your family;
– It came from your society;
– It came from your friends.
And you bought into it. But it isn’t yours.
Holding on to something that isn’t yours is called theft.
Don’t be a belief thief!

And how do we go about emancipating ourselves from these beliefs we’ve carried along with us?
Your limiting decisions are playing hide and seek, out in the areas where you’re producing results that you don’t want.
Your limiting decisions have shaped and molded everything you do. They have prevented you from seeing opportunities and maybe even discouraged you from trying at all. Now is the time to bring them out of hiding. Once you do that, you have choice, you are the creator of your reality.

Here are some manageable tips for you ~
~ Write the limiting belief down. Follow your thoughts and emotions to discover the limiting beliefs that hold you back. Put them on paper and confront them. You might note how strong each belief is and what emotions they elicit in you.
~ Acknowledge that these are beliefs, not truths. Are you more interested in: defending your limitations to the death or achieving your goals and desires in life? As author Evelyn Waugh wrote, “When we argue for our limitations, we get to keep them.” You can choose.
~ Try on a different belief. Utilise your imagination and try on a belief that is aligned and resonates with what you want. It might be something like, “My finance issues in the past have taught me many lessons and I’m fully prepared to deal with anything that comes to me” Or, “Now that I’ve been in an unfulfilling relationship I’ve learned what to look for in a warm, loving partner.” You want to embody this new belief and feel how it feels.
~ Take different action. This might feel strange, however act as if your new belief is true. In other words, if you really are the kind of soul that radiates light, how would you act at gatherings? Would you beam smiles? If you really are capable and have learned a tremendous amount from past financial difficulties, what steps would you take? If you really are the kind of person who eats nutritious and nurturing food, what will buy when going shopping?
If you avoid taking any steps based on your new belief, you will feed your old limiting belief. Taking action, even the smallest step, will help solidify the foundations of your new un-limiting decision. Your first steps don’t have to be perfect, just headed in the right direction. And acknowledge yourself when you’ve taken that step, you are awesome.
