Here are a few indicators you may be experiencing being overwhelmed. Take time to breathe and reflect on what is causing this angst and worry. Remind yourself everything is going to be okay and you will pass through this season of overload. You got this, one thing at a time.
- Small problems start to feel like really big ones, and this can lead to feelings of nervousness or panic.
- Mental or physical fatigue. You will find yourself suddenly lacking energy. This affects your motivation for activities, social events or work.
- You can’t concentrate & a sense of uncertainty appears. The includes having a hard time making decisions or any action which requires focus.
- You have headaches or other discomfort for no physical reasons. Physical stressors contribute to mental overwhelm creating a cycle.
- Every little thing starts to irritate you.
- You start obsessing over small things. This is because overwhelm feels like losing control. It’s common to cast about anything you can control.
- You have the urge to just leave. Walk off, or quit something – even if it’s something you care about.
