Life Lessons Part 3

How you approach life says a lot about who you are. There are some who are content to passively coast through, hoping they land where they need to be and know what to do when the time comes.
Then there are others, who make active choices to understand who they are and what they want, and set the goals that will keep them moving in the right direction. But a big part of having a successful life, is learning how to cope with the lessons that life has to teach us.

Here are few powerful life lessons that will happen to us, learn how they will be significant:

  • Burn the candles; use the nice sheets; wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
  • Over prepare, then go with the flow.
  • Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for the old age to wear purple.
  • The most important sex organ is the brain.
  • No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
  • Frame every so called disaster with these words : “In five years, will this matter?”
  • Forgive everyone everything.
  • What other people think of you is none of your business.
  • Time heals almost everything. Give it time.

“Life’s two most important questions are “Why?” and “Why not?” The trick is knowing which one to ask.” Acquiring some understanding of why we do things is often a prerequisite to change. This is especially true when talking about repetitive patterns of behavior that do not serve us well. This is what Socrates meant when he said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” That more of us do not take his advice is testimony to the hard work and potential embarrassment that self-examination implies.”

Life is simple, we forget that when we live inside our own worlds in our heads. I have experienced this sense of release and lightness with just going with the flow. Hoping for the best for me and the world. Amen.

Thank you Binny. I hope to keep writing good informed posts.

  4. I like the 5th point “no one is in charge of your happiness except you”
Some people tend to think that they can find their happiness in other people , but that’s not the case. I believe that they should learn or rather we should all learn to make ourselves first happy so that we can be able to make other people happy.

That’s a good piece you wrote. Thank you for that. 😊

  6. Cliff says:

Greatest source of wisdom for life is found in the holy Bible (suggested by your #3). E.g. ‘there’s more happiness in giving than receiving’, and that’s not xmas giving, but that’s only the beginning.
