Herbs for Muscle Pull Part 2
Pulling your muscles is always an unpleasant business, but the healing process can be turned into a treat with some of the herbal remedies below.
- Yarrow – One of the uses of yarrow is to strengthen blood vessels. For muscle pulls, boil a teaspoon of the leaves and flowers in a cup of water, then soak a cloth in the hot water and apply to the affected area until it cools. You can also take a bath with a yarrow infusion of a handful of flowers. Yarrow is versatile, you can use it fresh or dry.
- Mustard – Mustard is useful for muscle strain and bruises. It helps to increase blood circulation, which has a warming effect and brings more oxygen to the affected area. To make a poultice, crash some black mustard seeds, and water to make a thick paste, put this onto a cloth, and apply to the area. Freshly crushed mustard will ease pulls.
- Lavender – Lavender is one of the most useful herbs to grow or buy, as it is helpful for relaxation, insomnia, wound and aches or pains. Boil a handful of lavender flowers in a litre of water, soak a cloth in the water and then apply it to the painful area. Soak the cloth often to keep it warm. You can pull your muscle by performing simple household tasks; give ourself a break and try a herbal remedy.
