Daily Dose for the Soul

Always remember the self in self-respect

In order to do this, you must recognise that the opinions of others towards you aren’t facts, they are opinions. You are none of the opinions. You can’t be responsible for how people view you. The only thing you are responsible for is your own character, and this is true for every one of us. If you respect yourself, then you’re relying on the self in self respect. If you doubt yourself, or punish yourself, you’ve not only lost your self respect, you’ll continue to attract more and more doubt and lower energy opinions with which to further punish myself. You can’t stay linked to the universe mind, which intends all of us here, if you fail too rely on your self or your self respect.

Be in a state of gratitude

Be an appreciator rather than a depreciator off everything that shows up in your life. When you’re saying Thank you, God for everything, and when you’re expressing gratitude for your life and all that you see and experience, you’re respecting Creation. This respect is within your, and you can only give away what you have inside. Being in a state of gratitude is the exact same thing as being in a state of respect, respect for yourself, which you give away freely, and which will return to you tenfold.

Jesus of Nazareth, speaking through his apostle Saint Matthew (Matthew 5:48): “Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” Reconnect to the perfection from which you originated. You can’ have more self respect than that.

Most welcome. Giving thanks can literally make you feel much better. The secret of happiness may be as simple as thanking people. Gratitude is humbling, and shows appreciation. True gratitude can bring you joy, and make you feel happy that you have been blessed with whatever you’re grateful for.

Yes indeed Nirmal. Gratitude can change your life because it makes you appreciate what you have rather than what you don’t have. Gratitude can change your life because it is the single most powerful source of inspiration that any person can tap into if they simply just stop and paid attention to the simplistic beauty and miracle of life.

Let’s continue assuming that “Everything is Energy”. A logical conclusion is that we are “Energetic Beings”, since we are part of “Everything”. You may have heard the expression “We are Spiritual Beings Living a Physical Life”. Indeed, we are not only Spiritual Beings, we are also extensions of Source Energy – the Energy everything in the Universe sources from.

The fundamental idea that “We are extensions of Source Energy” is very simple, but the implications are far-reaching. If Source Energy is the basis for everything, then every form that exists on the physical plane is a projection of Energy, ie. everything that exists has an Energetic framework behind it. You can think of it this way: the physical plane is a “movie projected on a screen”, and the Energetic framework is the “film” that gets projected on the screen. If you change whats on the film, you change will whats on the screen.

Glad you agree Tamika. Gratitude is a positive disposition that is connected to well-being. Gratitude increases self-esteem. Research shows that people who are more grateful also tend to have higher self-esteem. This may be because when you intentionally notice the ways other people are good to you, you develop a stronger sense of your own value.

  8. I do believe gratitude is a key character quality that is necessary to a happy, humble outlook on life. Following the example of my oldest daughter, I started keeping a gratitude journal (I call it a miracle journal), recording a few words every night about the miraculous events and encounters of the day, for which I am grateful. This has been a transformative experience, and has buoyed me up during times of intense adversity.

A study at University of California found that people who wrote gratitude letters reported significantly better mental health than those who didn’t. … In fact, cultivating a gratitude practice has numerous benefits from increased happiness, better sleep and more creativity. It can even make you more altruistic.
