Flowers and Herb Magic – Part 1

Plants are one of the most natural and versatile ingredients in magic working. Use them fresh on altars, dried in charm bags or to bring magic to your cooking.

Charm Bags

One of the most common uses of flowers and herbs in spells is as ingredients in charm bags. When they’re used as such, it’s important to make sure you have dried them out well, otherwise they will rot in the bag. Hanging flowers or herbs in a dry, warm place, especially in windows and above radiators, can help these ingredients to dry out throughly.

Taking Care

Don’t try and dry plants above open gas fires, as water is given off as a by-product of the gas burning. When dried, flowers and herbs tend to be brittle, so try to handle them with extra care.

You can use flowers and herbs in pretty, magical charm bags for yourself or as a gift for a friend.
