Fruit based carrier oils can nourish and moisture your skin, improving your complexion and easing inflamed skin conditions such as acne and eczema.
- Apricot – Apricot kernels produce high quantities of a non-greasy, light-coloured oil. As a carrier base, it is rich in essential fatty acids and is easily absorbed by the skin. Apricot makes a luxurious moisturising oil for use in facial massages for all skin types. The essential fatty acid in apricot oil are easily absorbed by the skin.
- Avocado – Avocado gives a rich, viscous oil packed with vitamins and minerals. It soothes dry and mature skins, and its antibiotic and antiviral properties make it an effective treatment for problem skin. It quickly penetrates the skin and therefore needs to be blended with lighter carrier oils, such as sweet almond. Unprocessed avocado oil is a beautiful emerald green colour, with a nutty fragrance.
- Grapeseed – Grapeseed oil is a smooth, odourless and virtually colourless oil. It is readily absorbed by the skin, and has the desired effect of leaving a satin finish without feeling oily. Grapeseed nourishes and moisturises the complexion and its slightly astringent properties make is especially useful on young, oily skins. It is often used in beauty products for its toning and tightening properties. The skin firming properties of grapeseed oil make it a useful ingredient in facial toner.
- Peachnut – Peachnut oil is fine textured with a delicate, sweet aroma. Cold pressed from the fruit’s kernel, it is a valuable skin care oil, particularly prized for its no-reactive effect on sensitive skins. Peachnut oil is rich in thee antioxidant vitamin E, which has anti-aging effects and promotes elasticity and suppleness of the skin. Peachnut oil is particularly good for use in facial massages.
