Hope – A Poem

on

Nights long and sleepless
Days long and restless

The heart longing
and find ruminating

Of

What might have been
What could have been

“Think happy thoughts” – they said
“With difficultly, comes ease” – they said

But her heart is too heavy
to feel happy
So she stares blankly

Hoping for a better tomorrow
As she wallows in sorrow.

Heartfelt poem. Waiting for the difficulty to pass is agonizing at times. Hugs to whomever is hurting.

Hope without the Lord Jesus Christ is temporal.

“but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

There is tomorrow, Mireya. Hope is what keeps us going in life, we hope we will be strong, we hope we will pass a test, we hope we will make new friends, we hope we will never lose the old, we hope someone loves us, we hope that love will find us, we hope when all seems lost, we hope when we are hurt and we hope when we cry.
