Real Life Isn’t Always a Fairytale, But It Doesn’t Have to Be a Nightmare

Have you ever had one of those days when everything appears to come together perfectly? The sky is a beautiful blue, and the breeze reminds you of your favourite song. Relationships, at times, might feel similar. You’re certain that this person is the reason everything is so wonderful, as if they’re the secret component in your happy formula.
But then life throws you a curve ball, and they depart. It’s like attempting to navigate through the fog without GPS. You begin to doubt everything — “Was I overreacting? Not enough?” It’s like becoming lost in a maze with no exit signs. It’s very normal to feel disoriented after being engrossed in someone for so long.
We’ve all been there — falling for someone who isn’t the best for us. It’s similar like eating ice cream for every meal; it appears to be a good idea until you realise the stomachache is not worth it. To put it simply, love should not make you feel like you’re walking on eggshells. No love is genuine if it plays hide and seek when it should be your rock.
Do you remember when you were a youngster and thought life was all rainbows and butterflies? Sometimes youthful love feels like that — as if everything will just work out. But here’s the thing: not everyone you love will love you back in the manner you expect. And that’s okay. It’s like seeking for sunglasses only to realise they’ve been on your head all along; sometimes what you’re looking for isn’t what you need.
Furthermore, not every form of love we desire is what we deserve. That does not mean you are imperfect; it just means you must make room for the love that is actually appropriate for you.
If you’ve experienced love as lovely as a snow day off from school, cherish it. Keep those memories near and let them remind you of what’s possible. But don’t stay caught in the past, as if it were a never-ending Netflix replay. Aim for love that seems real in the moment, rather than a romantic daydream.Cut yourself some slack and be patient — the love you deserve will arrive on time.
Take care.
