Daily Dose of Nature

Working With Gaia’s Magic Part 2

Discover the many ways in which you can celebrate Gaia, and harness the gifts and energies of the Earth Mother.

Gaia’s Feast

Spend time in nature and really try to take in the inter-connection of all that Gaia provides. For example, grass is eaten by cows, who in turn provide you with milk and meat. You also eat vegetables from the earth and the parings from your cooking make compost, which nourishes the soil.

Nourish Yourself

Give thanks to Gaia for all she provides by gathering fresh foods from outdoors, fruits, nuts, herbs and leaves. Make a feast of your findings, then pile the leftovers in your garden and, over time, watch them transform back into earth. This is your gift to Gaia.

Harvest the gifts of Gaia to make a feast of fruits, nuts, herbs and leaves.

It is very much. Arising from the name of the Greek goddess as mother earth it suggests that living and caring quality of nurture and development. There is a sense of purpose in it. Like that of a living organism that seeks to grow, expand and make the most of its environment. The definition of gaia (and especially in relationship to alternative energy) incorporates that complex interelationship within the earth that keeps it and life on it in balance. Coming from the initial observations of James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis, which is covered further in the hypothesis and theory information, the idea has steadily gained credence. It makes sense of the world. Both what we can see about us day by day and also over centuries, millennia and beyond.

Mother Gaia, I thank you for your love and unconditional support and nurture. Thank you for your kind spirit, powerful healing presence and all your gifts of life. Your strength, resilience, humbleness, love and forgiving nature is admirable and inspirational. You provide us with life force and I prayer that you are nurtured just as much as you nurture us. Thank you for giving us everything we need and more. Sending you loving and healing energy
