Herbal Healing in Spring

Spring is full of the promise of good things to come, but it can also bring with it seasonal colds and hay fever. Avoid these by increasing your activity levels and using herbal remedies.

Take Some Exercise

We all need more physical activity, especially after a winter indoors. Regular exercise stimulates the circulation, tones muscles and keeps your heart healthy. Choose activities that you enjoy, so that they are not a chore. Exercise also releases dopamine, the “feel-good hormone” which leaves you feeling more energetic and positive about life.

  • Swap the gym for outdoor activities and benefit from the fresh spring air.
  • Take a walk at weekends, or a cycle ride with friends.
  • Now that the mornings are lighter, walk to work if you can, instead of jumping on a bus, and explore your local park at lunchtime.
  • Exercise in fresh air helps to relieve stress and allows your skin to soak up much needed sunshine. Ensure skin is protected from UV rays, even in spring with protective creams.

Enjoy roller blading through the park in the warmer days of spring. For more inspiration on spring healing > https://empress2inspire.blog/2021/02/16/daily-dose-of-nature-251/

  2. What “after a winter indoros=rs!?” Kentucky is still below freezing until Sunday and then we will only be in the 40s (F) for the next week! 😨 (That’s my blue horror face, but it can be blue from the cold! 😁 A friend in Tulsa, OK, told me today that they are getting just over freezing on Saturday and only in the 50s (F) next week.
As for sun and Vitamin D that Poet Jay mentioned, no direct sun is good sun. We get plenty of Vit D from even cloudy days IF we get outside. Sunscreen is the major protection from melanoma and prematurely aging the skin. 😉

      1. Yeah, friend in TX have had it rough in Dallas and Houston. There ARE other ways to stay warm besides burning furniture. BUT some folks never expected to need warm coats in GA. Friends outside Atlanta seem okay, but they are pretty wealthy.
Selma friends have it hard, ministering to underprivileged kids; have a house full with neighbor’s kids with no heat. 🙏

    1. Consider outdoor and indoor alternatives to keep moving consistently this Spring. Here we are again at the beginning of April which means soon we will be able to get outside and start enjoying longer days and warmer weather.
