Everyone loves a good smooch but did you know there are actual health benefits to a good make out session? So if you want an easy way to see the dentist less, don’t forget to kiss.

The physical act of kissing works over 29 muscles in your face. A quick romantic kiss will burn 2 to 3 calories. A solid French kiss burns 5 calories. An average person spends 20,160 minutes of their lives kissing. A single kiss can contain up to 278 different types of bacteria but don’t worry 95% of them are harmless.

Here are a few health benefits of kissing :

  • In case you forgot your toothbrush – French kissing increases saliva flow which can help reduce oral plaque which can cause cavities. Kissing also stimulates the immune system to create antibodies to the new bacteria.
  • Throw away headache medications – Kissing increases blood flow to the head which will help alleviate headaches.
  • Natural face lift – Since kissing uses over 29 muscles it can help shape up your neck and jawline.
  • Natural stress reliever – Kissing is great for the heart. Kissing increases your heart rate which can then lower blood pressure.
  • A quick pick me up – Kissing releases serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin all chemicals that help you feel great.
  • Kissing enhances self esteem – People who are kissed often are happier and more productive at work.
  • Smooching can help with allergies – Kissing decreases the IgE antibodies in the blood stream that are in control of releasing histamines.

I always wondered why kissing felt so good however with social isolation being in place because of Covid 19 any contact with anyone is not recommended.
Stay safe and well during these most difficult of times. ❤️🤗🙏

  2. Great advice but under such social and health restrictions this is like walking into a sweet shop but not allowed to purchase anything.

    1. It is. According to Helen Friedman, a clinical psychologist in St. Louis, frequent kissing can lead to holistic healing. “The social support of a kiss is a buffer against stress pain, too,” she says. “This showing of affection is a way to bond.

    1. Don’t forget the choice remains yours. Fear is always the thin edge of a nasty wedge.

  15. From a story I wrote: “I like kissing. I like the feel of silky skin on my lips, and of moist lips buried in my lips. I like the give and play of the lips, hard and yet soft at the same time. When you’re in lust with someone, kissing is the most delicious and delirious thing you can do.” and “Sex is like a kiss. If the kissing is perfunctory, passionless, then the sex will be too.”
