Even the smallest step in the right direction is preferable to doing nothing at all. When done consistently, it has the power to move mountains.
Sometimes it feels like if you can’t commit to exercising for an hour a day, saving 10% of your income, or writing 5,000 words a day, you might as well not do anything at all. That you should wait until a “better time” comes.
Don’t wait for the ideal moment to act. Don’t backtrack because you messed up, don’t think you’re ready, or don’t have the time, money, or resources. There will never be a better time than now. NOW.
Nobody cares if you cheated on your diet for one day, or if you only begin writing ten words a day in the novel that’s been brewing inside you for a decade.
Everything you do will add up. Everything you do will have an impact on everything else you do. You may be concerned that by taking only one step, you are taking the easy way out. But if that’s all you can do right now, your insignificant action is worth as much as gold. If it’s important to you, you’ll find the time, motivation, and resources to improve. You will arrive at your destination.
Consistency is far more important than perfection.
