Yoga postures (asana) are not well-known for eyes. However, there are a number of exercises which can improve vision. As we age, muscles of our eyes lose their flexibility and this soon develops into an eye problem. The loss of tone and flexibility of eyes affects the normal functioning of our brain and cranial nerves, thus, people with eye problems usually suffer from headaches and eye strain.

Improve your eyesight naturally with 6 eye Yoga exercises :

  • Side – To – Side : Look to the left as you inhale and exhale as you draw a straight line with your eyes to the right. Repeat this exercise 10-20 times.
  • Up & Down : Look straight up and straight down, drawing a straight line with your eyes. Inhale as you look up, exhale as you look down. Repeat this exercise 10-20 times.
  • Sideways : Look straight ahead. Look down and to one side. At that point move your eyes corner to corner and gaze upward and to one side. Repeat this exercise 10-20 times.
  • Rotations : Gradually move your eyes clockwise and counterclockwise. Do it clockwise 5 times and afterward counterclockwise 5 times.
  • Nose Tip Gazing : Focus your eyes on the tip of the nose for 5-10 seconds. Repeat this exercise 10-20 times.
  • Blinking : Blink around 10 times very quickly. Close your eyes and relax for 20 seconds. Slowly take your attention to your breath. Repeat this exercise about 5 times.

With increased hours on your laptop or ipad, your eyes will naturally be tired and you’ll be feeling sleepy all the time. To prevent reduced eyesight or faulty vision, perform yoga for eyes.

    1. Thank you. I am glad you liked it. Did you know other than a few diseases such as glaucoma and cataract, which occur due to bacterial infections, many eye disorders are related to the malfunctioning of the ocular muscles that may be caused by chronic mental and emotional tension. Yoga techniques for the eyes help alleviate disorders such as myopia and hypermetropia that are caused due to defects in the eye muscles.

    1. I am glad you found them helpful Hannah. While technology is great, the devices we rely on for everything might be exposing our eyes to dangers like blurred vision, retinal damage and digital eye strain. Adults and children alike are using computers, smartphones, tablets, TVs, video games, Fitbits, GPS devices and other gadgets on a daily basis. However, staring at backlit LED screens, especially at night, has a negative impact on vision and causes digital eye strain. In certain cases, the symptoms of eye strain are a manifestation of an underlying eye condition so it is important that you know them and receive timely treatment. These simple yoga practices can help.

    1. Glad you liked them. For centuries, people have promoted eye exercises as a “natural” cure for vision problems, including eyesight. There’s very little credible scientific evidence suggesting that eye exercises can improve vision. However, exercises can help with eyestrain and may help your eyes feel better.

    1. Glad to help.
Many eye exercises are touted as ways to naturally improve eyesight and overcome nearsightedness. … We can’t correct our vision without professional help, and there’s no quick-and-easy fix for eyesight problems. But with tools such as good nutrition and diet, you can still help your eyesight naturally and on your own.
