Toothache is caused mainly due to tooth decay caused by bacterial infection in the teeth or gums. A toothache always strikes without an initial warning signal. All you need are a few ingredients which can help prevent or relieve a toothache. As toothaches can occur suddenly it is very useful to know some of the very effective home remedies for toothache.

The best natural ingredients are clove essential oil and peppermint essential oil.

Clove Oil – Clove oil is a super strong antioxidant. Historically people have used this oil to cope with their toothache. It has certain antibacterial properties which can stop the growth of bacteria in the mouth. Plus, it is an effective natural disinfectant. Clove oil also produced a numbing effect that can ease discomfort and tooth pain.

Peppermint Oil – Peppermint oil is another effective essential oil which is used by many people in order to treat a toothache. This oil is also an effective home remedy for toothache from dental carries. It reduces the soreness of the teeth and the inflammation as well.

Directions for Use : You can use a cotton swab or fingertip to dab some of the clove oil or peppermint oil directly onto the affected area, covering tooth and gum.

If you want to dilute the clove oil or peppermint oil first, you can mix a drop into a small dab of coconut oil and then apply to affected area. Be sure to use only pure, therapeutic grade essential oils.

  1. It’s true it works, also rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide after brushing works as well too.

    1. Hi Jordan, I would recommend that you speak with a dentist for the same. Prolonged use of hydrogen peroxide can cause significant damage to the protective enamel of teeth if used too often or in too-high concentrations. More serious side effects of hydrogen peroxide whitening include inflammation of the teeth roots in the gums. This problem can lead to secondary issues, such as infection, which can be expensive to treat.

      1. Oh I know exactly what the dentist will say.

I can fix those for 4-5 thousand dollars. lol

At least most of our healthcare is covered.

Catch a kidney stoney and the hospital visit is covered by taxes, break a tooth and you have to start breaking the piggy bank.

So the plan is to stick it into some people’s heads that we need the same system for dentistry in Canada, in which case then I’ll be able to see the dentist.

Which then ties into the reason why it’s good for a writer to go through these issues because I will actually “bring them up” where as most people just suck it up and work harder for a flawed system.

Writers are like flossing, annoying but necessary.
