Late Night Drives – A Poem

Are you ok? The darkness asked.
You’re too kind. Want to join me? It proposed.

My friend, you’re a comforting high.
But I cannot lie
I’d go because I wouldn’t mind a drive.
With soothing songs and hot chai.
I just don’t know how to say goodbye.

  1. These verses take me to a place, filled with a comforting presence . . . even in the darkness.
