Process of Incarnation

When the higher soul wants to incarnate and the destiny of the incarnated soul has been formulated with the help of a superior being, the place and body to be born into are selected. The higher soul extends itself “downward” to the lower mental world with the seed of consciousness, forming the lower mental body.

The emotional permanent seed is extended “downward” to the astral world, forming the astral body. When are the three permanent seeds lodged in the physical body? This is a question that most people would ask. The physical permanent seed is attached at the moment the egg is fertilised by the sperm. In about three to four weeks, the emotional permanent seed is attached to the foetus. After about two weeks, the mental permanent seed or seed of consciousness is attached to it. In other words, in about one and a half months, the three permanent seeds, are attached to the foetus.

On the seventh month, the incarnated soul is attached to the foetus. At this stage, the foetus is already a temple of the Holy Spirit and therefore a living person, not just a mass of flesh or an accumulation of cells.

The foetus inside a mother’s womb is subject to psychological impressions of thoughts and feelings generated by the mother, including what she seed and hears. Therefore, it is very important that a pregnancy woman should be surrounded by a wholesome environment. She should listen to wholesome and soothing music. Positive thoughts and feelings should be cultivated. Movies connected with cruelty or extreme violence should be avoided. It is important to read the lived of great yogis or saints, and also books on math, science, economics and other topics. This will facilitate the psychological and mental development of the baby.
