Whether you are intrigued by the idea of personality types or believe them to be nonsense, it’s always interesting to see which type you supposedly fall into and perhaps gain a little more knowledge about yourself.

Here are some top personality types. Which personality type are you?

  • Isolated Introvert – You enjoy the company of some carefully chosen others and often crave alone time. You are seldom bored because you have so many things going on in your head to occupy your attention.
  • Overachiever – You are highly self-critical and intolerant of personal mistakes. You tend to take criticism as a personal affront.
  • Perfectionist – Your greatest wish is to be perfect in some way. You never slow down to relax. Stress is a badge of honour attributed to hard work.
  • Dramatist – Drama and stress follow you wherever you go. You may feel bored when there is nothing to stress about.
  • Worry Wart – You find yourself inventing reasons (often catastrophic) for why someone is late. You try to be several steps ahead of others planning. You tend to work out minor details in an attempt to avoid conflicts at all costs.
  • Daydreamer – You have always been described as creative by others. You tend to turn inward to develop your creative gifts.

So which personality type are you?

  1. I think I fit more as an isolated introvert 🙂

    1. Embrace your introverted nature that requires you to take some alone time to charge your energy.
Don’t overexert yourself at an event just to make others happy. Always allocate some time away from all the noise after a long day of events.
Always keep in touch with your family or a small group of friends who understands and accepts you for the way you are.

      1. That’s a tough one. I feel like everyone is a mix of all of them but my main points are probably creative and…overachiever.

      2. Ah yes, we all are different personalities at different times depending upon the mood and circumstances. Let me tell you a secret about overachievers. They secretly think they are not good enough. The other hallmark trait of an overachiever is feelings of self-doubt about one’s own competence or ability. While some people will “self-sabotage” when they feel inadequate, overachievers stake their identities on performance in order to conquer self-doubt. Have a faced anything like that?

      3. Wow, I relate to that. That’s good to know. Thanks for sharing all this awesome info with me. Its neat when you feel as if you might not be good enough or you’re not normal and then someone tells you about this personality type and then it’s just a moment of realization. Thanks again. 🙂

Don’t know which of these I am. However, according to Myers Brigg, I am an ENFP.

    1. Ah perfect. However here are some self help tips for you as being a super performer may attract some anxiety. Allocate additional time in the mornings so that you have sufficient time to get ready and not get overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the day.
Spend some me-time towards the end of the day perhaps with a cup of decaffeinated tea to unwind and de-stress.
When communicating your ideas, take your time to organise your thoughts before you begin. Be sure to slow down and take little pauses in between — or take a deep breath, if you have to.
Cultivate an introvert-friendly lifestyle to reduce stress and avoid isolating yourself from your family and close friends.

    1. You seemed to be more of a thinking Introvert. Are you often deep in your thoughts, wondering about life and analysing yourself? As a thinking introvert, you don’t avert social situations and don’t mind the presence of other people. You’re an introvert in a sense that you have a rich inner life, always pensive and introspective; especially after having read a book or watched a movie. You reflect on how you feel and delight in your make-believe world, losing yourself in your dreamy imagination.

      Self-care tips for thinking introverts:

Make time and space to reflect on your thoughts and emotions (e.g. journaling). Pursue your hobbies and creativity by developing a schedule you can follow.
Leverage on your strength, venture into a career that is perfect for introverts like you.
As you’re always deep in your thoughts, don’t lose touch with reality — build meaningful relationships to keep you inspired!

  8. When I was a young adult, I took the Myers-Briggs personality index. The counselor told me afterward that other than a distinct penchant for intuition, I scored evenly on the other values. Which might be why I respond to these personality descriptions (above) thinking sometimes I’m one or another. I think, though, that mainly I’m the Isolated Introvert, particularly regarding boredom or the lack thereof. I would not have thought of not being bored as a quality of that personality. I’m hardly ever bored and wonder why people would be.

    Thanks for this!

    1. Introvert brains also react differently to dopamine than extrovert brains do. That’s a chemical that turns on the reward- and pleasure-seeking part of your brain. Introverts and extroverts have the same amount of the chemical, but extrovert brains get an excited buzz from their reward center. Introverts, on the other hand, tend to just feel run-down by it. The isolation allows introverts to focus deeply and produce high-quality work. This isn’t to say introverts don’t work well with others; they just prefer to retreat and focus on the task at hand, rather than navigate the social aspect of working in a group setting. Yes, they are highly intuitive.

    1. Glad you liked it. A good personality is not about too much makeup , expensive clothed, heavy accessories – it’s about the confidence that you have in yourself- the smile that you wear on your face ! Confidence and a genuine smile are the two most important traits of a good personality!

  10. I wonder if one can fit into several of these traits.. I find myself in more than one. Mainly a Daydreamer I guess. but I don’t show it much. Its as if its all in my head.

    1. Don’t resist it. ositive-constructive daydreaming was more strongly associated with personal growth, purpose in life, and positive affect; guilty-dysphoric daydreaming was associated with depressive symptoms, negative affect, and lower psychological well-being, while poor attentional control was associated with lower positive well-being.

    1. Yes Gary. Research suggests that there are three layers to our personalities. They are the Mask Self, the Lower Self and the Higher Self. If you picture a sphere, the mask is the outer layer, the Lower Self is the middle layer, and as odd as it might seem, the Higher Self is buried underneath the other two at the center – the core.

      1. Are you doing a piece on that. That sounds like a great insightful study. I do think of the mask with my students who have to wear the “cool teen” face in front of friends. Sadly that mask turned towards adult can be that typical angsty or disrespectful teen. However, part of our teacher’s job is to peal back the mask to see the real person underneath. It’s a wonderful step for teacher and student alike because it’s real. Once we get past the surface real learning begins. Now the deeper self I wonder if we get to see with fewer people. That is why I also write stories to get to a speak to and from real characters struggles underneath.

      2. I would love to do a piece on that Gary, however it requires an in depth research. I better find time for it 🙂
