For millennia, people have searched for methods to quiet their minds. Long before modern technology introduced new distractions into our lives, humans have pursued inner peace. If you’re seeking a method to quiet your mind and achieve inner peace, these few ancient techniques have proven effective even by today’s standards.
- Accept Everything – When you get frustrates by not being able to switch off, you create a vicious cycle which makes things worse. Practice things you are grateful for, do affirmations, listen to your favorite music, instead of getting to a downward spiral.
- Let It Go – Focusing on time sustains the vicious cycle of worry that keep us awake longer, so practice letting go of all time related thoughts. Also, work on resisting the urge to check the time if you wake up!
- Is this helping me? – Acceptance and commitment therapy approaches train us to focus on whether or not our thoughts are helpful. Ask yourself : Does paying attention to this thought help you or hinder you? Is paying attention to the thought doesn’t help you create the life you want, focus on distancing yourself from the thought.
- Grounding Techniques – Grounding techniques help bring you back into the present moment, enabling you to escape from cycles of mental anxiety. Grounding techniques are simple but powerful. We urge you to experiment with them and discover what works best for you (or make up your own).
n truth, each one of us is a vast energy source, connected to unlimited knowledge, creativity, peace and wellbeing. But we define who we are based on narrower habits of mind in part dictated by our society. We develop our minds to focus and organize our creative, vast selves into the productive activity of our daily life. We experience life through the dualities of Mind and Heart.
