Become a Morning Person

Rise and shine, sleepyhead! Today’s the day you start taking steps to becoming a morning person. I know it’s hard to drag yourself out of bed when that comfy cool pillow is hugging your face, but, as they say, the early bird gets the worm. That’s not all the early bird gets, either.

Here are few ways in which you can start to become a morning person today 🙂

  • Don’t Eat Late – Don’t eat too much before you go to sleep (and don’t eat after 2 hours before you go to sleep).
  • Set An Alarm – Put the alarm across the room. No snooze.
  • Plan your Morning Routine – So you don’t forget important things.
  • Get Enough Sleep – 7-9 hours sleep is enough.
  • Drink Milk Before you go to Sleep – It is relaxing.
  • Turn off Your Phone – So that you won’t get distracted.
  • Pack & Prepare everything a night Before – Your lunch, clothes, and stuff for school work.
  • Relax & Take your Time – Have a breakfast or a coffee. Read a newspaper or a book.
  • Leave your House on Time – Have fun at Work.

  1. Sounds great but I’m NOT a morning person. I’m a mid-afternoon person. Is OK. I have to get up early for work but I’m not alert till after my first break in the AM. Thank God for morning people. Someone has to be alert on the road in the morning. hehehehe

    • Yes indeed.! Becoming a morning person can only work if you wake up and go to bed early every day of the week. Yes, that means staying up late every weekend could be a problem. It’s called social jetlag.

  2. Good post. I like to go for a run in the morning… Especially since it’s summer and the rest of the day is very hot! Its a great way to tackle the rest of the day, having completed a certain goal makes you look forward to the rest of the day positively.

    • Hi Aidan, One of the most common reasons cited is that when you exercise in the morning, you get your workout out of the way. In fact, a morning workout is a lot like breakfast in that it gets your metabolism going. Simply put, you burn more calories all day long just from the sheer fact of exercising in the morning.

    • Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. It also gives you the energy you need to get things done and helps you focus at work or at school. Those are just a few reasons why it’s the most important meal of the day. Many studies have linked eating breakfast to good health, including better memory and concentration, lower levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol, and lower chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight.

    • I agree with you Cindy. The morning may be the most important part of your day. It sets the tone and the tempo of your daily life. If you wake up late and rush through your morning, the day will likely feel rushed and hurried. But if you take your time and started the day with accomplishments the day will follow suit.

  3. Morning is also my favorite time of day! I like to get things done before other people wake up and ruin the beautiful silence lol. I like to use the sleep cycle app. It sets a time period for you to wake up and monitors your sleep to pick the best time to sound its alarm.. which isn’t alarming

    • If you are thankful and grateful every morning as you woke up, happiness would come out within you. Every new morning gives you the chance to learn, to strive and to be better than you were the day before. The beauty of the morning is wasted on those who sleep through it. Don’t be like them.

    • Before going to sleep tonight, tell your brain to wake you up at a particular time and then not let you sleep again. Also drink a lot of water and electrolytes. Feeling lazy in the morning could be a sign of dehydration.

    • That Is wonderful. Without mental stimulation dendrites, connections between brain neurons that keep information flowing, shrink or disappear altogether. An active life increases dendrite networks and also increase the brain’s regenerating capacity, known as plasticity.
