Have you ever found yourself asking the age-old question “Why do I attract freaks, geeks, perverts, and weirdos?” If so, you are certainly not alone!

This is a question that many people have pondered at one point or another, and the answer can be different for everyone. But fear not, for the answer to this perplexing question is finally within your reach.
Firstly, it’s important to recognize that the people who you perceive as “freaks, geeks, perverts, and weirdos” are just ordinary individuals who happen to have unique interests and behaviors. While societies deem and label these people as “others”, perceive them through a lens of judgement and disdain, but have you ever thought about the social cost of being someone different? Living on the margins of society not because they want to, but because of how society names and treats them? Embracing them for who they are, with dignity and respect may just end up bringing the best of them forth. Rather than feeling disconnected from society and judged for who they are, try separating your thoughts from assumptions and evaluate each person as an individual, not through the stereotypes that mainstream media has popularized. Instead of being repulsed by them, try relating to them in a non-judging way; it’s amazing what a smile or nod can do!
Now back to our original question of why you are attracting these individuals to your life. Well, it’s most likely because you have something in common with them, on a deeper, more profound level than surface-level interactions. I am reminded of moths that are attracted to light – bright, unique personalities, like yourself, act as a beacon that naturally draws different kinds of people towards them. The phrase, “birds of a feather flock together” stands true. So, do not hate or disdain, for these same people may have a deeper connection with those parts of yourself that you are too afraid of exploring, and who knows, they may just be wired to push the boundaries themselves.
Now, I understand, having so many people who ‘do not fit in( as per societal norms)’ in your life can be draining after a while, but before you shut them out, try unfurling the labels and getting to know them as individuals. Try to evaluate what’s binding you two together. Similarly like attract similar energies. Perhaps within you, there are traits that you may have suppressed or not acknowledged. You’d be surprised by how these traits manifest through inanimate entities or even in different beings around you. It’s up to you to decide whether you want these people to be a part of your life, but before you make that choice, try judging them for who they are, instead of what society has labeled them as.
In conclusion, attracting “freaks, geeks, perverts, and weirdos” may seem like a curse at first, but in actuality, it’s an opportunity for you to connect with people who you may not otherwise have given a chance. Be kind towards those individuals, accept them for who they are and consider their uniqueness has an added bonus to the interactions. Perchance, they may be able to help you understand parts of yourself that you might have suppressed or just never been aware of. After this, let the wind choose its direction, and always remember, accepting others is key to accepting yourself.
