You Are Your Own Home

Please keep in mind that you can create a home within your own heart if you ever feel lost.

You weren’t intended to settle down in a transient planet. It was never intended for other people to love you into security. In actuality, your purpose in being here is to build a house within your own heart. Not that you don’t need connection, but rather that nothing else is possible unless you are connected to yourself, is what you are here to learn. Instead of burying yourself in a life that someone else made, you are here to muster the confidence to build your own. Your body is your home. You are the one you have been looking for. The love of your life and the protagonist of this tale are you. You can find serenity in your chest. Love resides in your heart.

Inspiration comes from within your head. You can produce what is meant to be yours without needing anything more from anyone. In the first place, you are here for yourself. You should never take the company of those who walk the road with you for granted, nor should you ever use them as a means of emotional labour. Because the truth is that it is not anyone else’s responsibility to give us a sense of security or that everything is in order. You won’t achieve world peace unless you are content in your own heart.

This is because you will continually want things to be different from how they actually are, constantly want other people to live up to your own expectations of them, and continuously want to avoid your triggers and phobias. Instead, you must understand that “home” is a way of being, not a notion or a location. It’s how you approach and personalise your life. It’s a method of finding solace in the details of who you are, rather than in what you might develop into. It’s the way you look for presence in everything and understand that nothing is intended to be perfect but rather that everything is a brand-new experience that you may never have again.

Making a home inside of yourself is realising that no matter what happens, you will always be alright because you can adjust even if things don’t go as planned. Knowing that you will always move forward—not because letting go won’t be difficult, but because you can handle challenges—is making a home within yourself. Knowing that you will always find peace within yourself is being willing to experience discomfort in order to obtain the life you desire, not because you will always feel comfortable. We won’t make it to the coast. We are not here to look for refuge in other people’s ideas.

We are here this planet to understand that we are the origin of our own existence, of everything we make, and of everything we are. We are here to find our way back to ourselves before guiding others on their own journeys.

Listen, I know it’s terrifying, unpleasant, and extremely distressing right now, but you’ll be OK. This is something you must do for yourself. You must go beyond what is known and strive to believe that you will be fine no matter what. Even if things don’t work out. Even if you don’t find what you’re looking for, it’s still a good thing to show that you tried. It is with this thought I introduce my new book “Acceptance”. Hope we find the courage to accept what is.
