It tells you that you are nothing, that no one cares about you, and that things won’t get better.

Until you give in and let the demons of depression take control, a never-ending stream of negative thoughts will play continuously in your head. It instructs you to resume sleeping. Leave the bed alone. Neglect both you and others around you. Pull back, then pull back again. Your mind is clouded by its lies, which feed your brain nothing but hopelessness. You will always feel alone, no matter how many people you have around you. You won’t be able to mask your internal suffering no matter how much cosmetics you apply. On the outer, you can contour, paint a new face, and conceal flaws, but there is no internal cure for your unhappiness.
Even if you share pictures of your life as being full with abundance and fulfilment, you will still be lacking. You’ll experience all of your errors and tragedies oozing through every pore in your body, engulfing you in a sea of misery and devastation. Your gut will get larger as a result of all the guilt, mocking you in the mirror. You’ll feel nasty inside. Your mind is a black hole that swirls and eats your bliss alive; you are hollow. Although the lies that depression tells your brain are incredibly unpleasant, keep in mind that they are also lies. You are not alone, even though a buddy lately seems like a faraway idea and loneliness is all around you.
Allowing human attachment and letting others through your mental barriers may seem impossible. Nobody else can perceive the internal conflict you’re going through. Even if you try to run away, despair will find you. A depressed, broken individual on the west coast is still going to be depressed, broken, and broken in another country whether they are on the east coast. No matter how much you want to escape what is still remaining in your core, you will never be able to change the environment. You can’t hide from your thinking or yourself. The mind is a sophisticated organ that processes the information you give it, stores it, loops it, and then uses it.
So feed it beauty and positivity. Recovery is a personal endeavour. You can get some temporary relief from your problems, but the true path to happiness lies deep within you. You must pause and take a breath before continuing. Self-love and care are essential. Put up the effort you know is there. The lies that despair tells your brain can only be disregarded. You are significant. You are a unique individual. You’re cherished. Although it may not feel good right now, moments pass quickly, and everything will be fine. You have overcome depression, and it has not prevailed over you.
Listening to your heart while making choices can mean different things to different people. For some, it means tapping into their emotions and intuition to guide their decision-making process. For others, it means connecting with a higher power or spiritual force to seek guidance and clarity. Regardless of the interpretation, the idea is to trust your gut and follow your inner guidance when faced with tough decisions. This can lead to more authentic and fulfilling choices, as well as a deeper connection with oneself and the world around us. This book tells you how.
