Independent people usually cultivate few habits to help them succeed in their personal and prove lives.
1. Self-reliance: Independent people have a strong sense of autonomy, rely less on others for help and are confident in their decisions. They have a level of self-awareness that allows them to tap into their own strengths and weaknesses, and they have the ability to trust their own instincts. They don’t wait for others to solve their problems, but instead take control and seek effective solutions to them.
2. Initiative: Independent people do not wait for others to tell them what to do. Instead, they identify their goals and take proactive steps to achieve them. They are not afraid to voice their opinions or take risks, and they work diligently to realize their objectives.
3. Time management: Independent people are highly organized and disciplined when it comes to managing their time. They understand the importance of prioritizing tasks and know how to use time effectively to achieve their goals. They create schedules and set realistic deadlines, and are able to adhere to them.
4. Resilience: Independent people are equipped with resilience or the ability to deal with setbacks, failures, and adversities. They focus on solutions instead of problems and adopt a “never give up” attitude. They learn from their mistakes, recover quickly from setbacks and return stronger and more determined to achieve their goals.
5. Critical thinking: Independent people are good at critically evaluating ideas and weighing their value. They collect data, view multiple perspectives and assess whether something is logical or not. They think critically and independently, instead of relying on others for answers or opinions.
6. Adaptability: Independent people adapt to new or challenging situations swiftly and efficiently. They look out for new opportunities, embrace change and are prepared to embrace new strategies or plans. They can transform their conventional approaches to success related challenges that a non-independent person will find inflexible and nonnegotiable.
Overall, independent people equip themselves with confidence, clarity, and control through consistent practice of these tips. They fuel themselves with go-getter energy, resourcefulness, and self-belief which enable them to be very successful people in both their personal and professional lives.

I wish this were always true. I’m learning that as we age, unfortunately, little by little, we may have to become at least somewhat dependent on others. It’s a bitter pill to swallow after being independent for so long.
